Growing comes at the cost of discomfort. Thoughts aren't facts, detach from them. Your brain is wired for survival, not success. Make fun of your negative thoughts, don't take yourself too seriously. Practice your beliefs by acting on them. Trust the process, generate proofs, believe forever. To practice new beliefs, expose yourself to them, test them out, and reinforce them slowly. Accepting your past is key to move forward. Lean into the negative, stare your fears in the eyes. Tolerance is a side effect of acceptance. Replace your irrational beliefs for believable ones. Drop thoughts leading to catastrophes, demands, frustrations, and pains by looking at the evidences and your future goals. Most of our beliefs are based on pre-conceived judgments that we have about the world and ourself.
Leila HormoziSelling a business is relieving as you have less responsibilities, meaning less stress, meaning less problems. You can enjoy your business but not love it, don't let it own you. Success is when your children want to be with you when they are adults. Your wife doesn't want you to come wine to her so go out there to kick ass. You must be good in school to lend high paying jobs or be good with money to lead a business.
Paul OrfaleaStories are more impactful than statistics. Do the thing even if you don't know if there is something on the other side. When things get better fast, reset your baseline for things you can engage in. You can aim for health and perfection all the time yet be wiped out by one mistake. Set your alarms early for 3 days to become a morning person, make sure you are active from the beginning: sport, social, sun, etc.
Andrew HubermanTaking a decision means nothing, acting toward something does. Be aware of your mental flaws, not ruled by them. Will you trade of good and curtain life for a great and uncertain one? Most decisions are reversible, try something else and go back eventually. Critics are not for you, many are global cynics but few have genuine enemies. Do something frequently that holds you accountable over time, it helps forcing yourself out of eventual ruts. Nobody sees the things you don't do, the tons of money you turn down from weird sources, the influence you refuse. Have obsession in the micro and variation in the macro. Periodize obsession: big full work period than short full holiday mode. It's not about your daily calories but your monthly calories (or weekly or yearly). If you want to have fun, there are better drugs than alcohol with less side effects the next day. Elective sobriety should have a deadline, enjoy 2 pints once in a while to get a reminder of the cool effects. Set geographic and / or duration based limits to avoid asking the question every day.
