Bypass the impossible to pursue your vision and share niche knowledge along the way. Be truthfully mean to people's face but nice behind their back. Be hard to read and don't line up with stereotypes, own the vibe when you're turn into a meme. Don't be afraid to move despite the metaphoric weather and handicaps to go beyond expectations. You are judged until everyone joins you, refuse to follow the crowd blindly and don't outsource your opinions to it.
George MackDo you really need a team? If yes, don't be more than a 90’s boy band. Unnecessarily expanding kills productivity. 60% of a team’s success is “Who’s on the team?”, 30% is clarifying roles, 10% is leadership. Get A-Players, the difference between the best and worst performers is the difference between a firecracker and the Big Bang. Team members need to like each other. Social skills, not average IQ, is what makes smart teams. You need a disagreeable person, they might not be the hero you want but they’re the hero you need, the one who’ll pull the emergency brake on the runaway train of group think. Create an environment with safety (everyone feel they can speak), vulnerability (good emotional nudity), and purpose (“This is who we are. This is what we stand for.”). You inspire people by reminding them why their job is important, what positive effect are they having, so find a way to make this visible.
Eric BarkerEverything can be scaled to some degree. You're not a real entrepreneur if you haven't gotten a slap in the face. Respect and likeness over fear. Attack small problems as big problems in the making. We assume everything will get better but many actually get worse. Your emotions and drive impact others. You can't lead others without credit. No one has all the answers, even leaders. Mentors pick their mentees, often from luck of proximity. Ask your close ones what is holding you back from being a better version of yourself. Build your courage muscle by accepting then facing your fear. Everything feels impossible until you do it once.
