The West denies the existence of God and wants to take his place since Rousseau who wants to replace God with science. In the name of science, and a chosen science that we do not have the right to question, we prevent everything else from expressing itself. We must be against Rousseau and for natural law. No, two men or a single woman cannot have children. Jean-Jacques Rousseau is the father of all totalitarianism. The matrix of totalitarianism is the French Revolution. The left and today's society have a totalitarian temptation while our Christian origins prevent us from doing this because we consider others as our equals. Europe has never seen slavery on its soil. Those who have earned a lot of money fall into vanity by wanting to dictate what others must do. Buying media is destroying freedom of the press. The commercial system allows the press to survive which has an audience and avoids propaganda.
Charles GaveLifestyle kills more than poverty. Poverty of the soul is worse than material poverty. At the origin of this, the welfare state that allows the emergence of the underclass with social cases now favored who generate welfare jobs because they are victims. In the West, we do not die of hunger while each day spent without being hungry is a personal victory in Kinshasa. Health accessible to all makes patients disrespectful, there is no more gratitude, and they expect to be taken care of. The welfare state provides care, housing, and aid but also apathy, nihilism, and spiritual emptiness. It is now society that is responsible, not the individual who feels irresponsible. It is not longer people's fault but because of racism, alcohol, an absent father. Progressivism worsens the situation of those it claims to help because excessive leniency, the denial of authority, and the obsession with laxity lock the underprivileged classes into castes from which they cannot escape. Abolishing punishment and authority removes the possibility of closing and guiding. Justice is no longer the reprehension of individual criminal behavior but becomes the political fight for social justice. Progressivism goes so far as to justify crime morally, the criminal is an existentialist hero revolted against an unjust world and society. Progressivism denies the obvious, because reality contradicts their theory, with fallacious arguments and bad comparisons. They advocate not judging others, but a battered woman knowing her partner's background would have to do so before getting together with him. Judging is not bad, although progressivism says that it creates a hierarchy. Saying that popular "culture" (rap, video games, series) is culture makes them passive on this subject, especially since it is accessible. Bourgeois people can then appropriate it because flattering mediocrity will always bring more sympathy than denouncing it. In short, populism for reasons of dishonesty, ignorance, and fashion. Progressivism pushes towards inaction and justifies everything by sociological determinism. Intellectuals are to blame because they consider that the purity of their ideas is more important than the consequences of these ideas. It is better for the reputation of a philosopher to invent a new error than to repeat a truth that has already been expressed by others.
Theodore DalrympleWeird things are only weird for normal people, for weird people weirdness is the norm. The modern world is full of old Christian virtues gone mad, the virtues have gone mad because they have been isolated from each other and because they wander all alone. They make all madness a norm and are confident in their delirium like madmen. The madman seeks to make sense of everything around him, he thinks more and explains everything rationally, he has not lost his mind but has lost everything except his reason. The archetype of the madman is the materialist, the one who considers that everything is only matter without spirituality, thus blocking reflection. Opposing faith and reason has no meaning because it is an act of faith to think that our thoughts are linked to reality. Those who are incapable of doubting themselves doubt everything. Man is not only reason, he is also feelings. We do not need to understand everything to be amazed. Being a universal optimist who does not love the world for a specific reason but by principle, transforming an irrational love into something concrete. Rome was not loved because it was great, Rome was great because it was loved. Nietzsche said "beyond good and evil" because he did not have the courage to say "better than good is evil" or "worse than good is evil". For progressists, progress implies the destruction of what has been done, therefore starting from scratch. Advocate for slow progress rather than sudden change. Modern man is incapable of changing the world because he is constantly changing his thoughts, one day he is a Marxist, the next day a Nietzschean, the day after that a superman, and a slave every day. The condition for making the world progress is to set an ideal and not move from it because, if we change it after several failures, the latter will have been in vain. To leave something alone is not to leave it as it is but to abandon it to a torrent of changes.
