Decrease affect, people will forget about you after you die and you are insignificant at the scale of the universe. The body you are building will become worms' launch. The greatest skill is being in a good mood for no reason. You don't remember the past year except for a few important moments. Instead of looking for ways to grow, look for ways to fail and do the opposite. We detect too many downsides that we then over-emphasize while detecting too few upsides that we then under-emphasize. Take the 50% likelihood of going 10x even at the risk of loosing everything. The worst case scenario of everything isn't death but living on a mattress in a small apartment, which you can bare and might have already experienced. Learn to enjoy prolonged suffering moments to get the upsides that come afterwards. Gratitude means you demand happiness from life, but you can go further by not expecting anything. You are not having a bad year, you had a few bad days and thought about them for the whole year. Let good things eat more space, one good moment can make your whole week or even month good. How little of a thing that can happen can make your day? Having one coffee with your partner can make the whole week good. Make the ride more enjoyable. Life doesn't fight fair, it has various ways and intensity of being sucking. The same problem can have several causes. The currency that you pay isn't always the same; it can be health, time, money, sanity, etc. You can finish a 90 days project in 7 intense days that you'll feel great about. "Work smart, not hard" only works against dumb people, you have to work both smart and hard. You have so much juice left to squeeze, even after you've won, but don't realize it. Don't sacrifice your favorite things for your important things; have your 2 hours daily workout no matter what if that is what makes you happy. The only thing a 22 years old must do is to work his ass off. You are free to change your mind daily. Use if useful, cast out otherwise. People explaining how to succeeded are just sharing their winning lottery ticket numbers. How can you make any advice work for you? Figuring out what you want is the hardest part, working to get it is the hardest. If you want it all, life will get you nothing. You give up the things you have the most of to get the things you have the least of. The good old days are always now. There is nothing wrong with something bad. Punishments fade, rewards stick. What makes life hard is its uncertainty. Only take advices from people who have a bigger dream for your life than you do and realize that they are more important than your goals. People who never bet are guaranteed to loose. Only suffer once, don't relive it afterwards. Having simultaneous goals reduces the likelihood of achieving any of them, only focus on the most important goal of the moment. Every position on the board has an advantage, having nothing to loose is a great one. People have achieved world-class success with worst conditions than you. The world doesn't hate 22 years old, they are just useless for the most part. If you keep thinking that people don't take your seriously because of your age, your age isn't the problem. People cast their preferences onto you and expect you to give a shit but you are not obligated. You are forced to listen to feedbacks in order to grow but discerning which one to follow is hard. We underplay how simple success is yet is it harder than we expect. If you want to get over something, get under something else. Most people don't know what it is like to put tremendous effort into something. Successful people are consistent, which can't be seen from a snapshot. Are you settling or did you move mountains? Trying is not doing a Google search and watching some YouTube videos. Volume negates luck, you can brute force what you want into reality. The bigger the goal, the fewer people are pursuing it, while so many people fight for mediocre goals. When you are finishing your real work for the day, look at your to-do list and keep the momentum going. The best way to become a champion is to join a team of champion. What are you afraid of loosing when nothing in the world belongs to you? If you can't explain why you believe something, it is not yours, so question your beliefs. Don't judge your pleasures, let them be. Most people delegate thinking because it is hard, but also because you can't investigate everything in depth. What hills are you willing to die on? You are the living proof of your ability to withstand hard stuff; are you fine, always. Generalize your history to each novel situation to which it also applies. Twits and turns make up for better stories, the more epic the monster the more epic the hero. Finding someone who sees the world like you do is extremely rare, get them to stay with you when that happens. Biology doesn't change like culture, women have a limited time to give birth. You can't find a perfect person and should have different persons to fulfil the various needs of yours. Deep bonding occurs when going through hardships. Find the person who allows you to be the most you version of you; never dilute yourself. You marry two people, the one the person is right now and the one the person wants to become, make sure you like both. A strong traditional woman needs an even stronger traditional man who doesn't let her become a man. Get a coachable and supportive wife that will act immediately on your feedbacks. Getting married makes you more money because you are no longer spending money and time chasing a partner. What would you do if you could not be punished? If you can't get in shape in your youth, accept the fact that you will never get in shape at all. Passions change over time, look for what won't. If there are two ways to understand something, always assume it is the positive way. The first way you describe someone is by describing what he does, which makes one's actions his identity. Once you've learned how to try something over a long period of time, you realize you can only become great at a few things and that the number of great people at one thing is small. The better you get at one thing, the less you want to do other things. Is spending all your time on that thing worth it for you? Achieving a high level of happiness takes work. Being happy doing nothing of your days is a waste, desire to be both happy and useful. Spending money well is a skill and improving your environment as well as saving time is important; pay someone to clean and prepare your stuff.
